Flonase is a cortiscosterioid
used for seasonal and perennial allergies (hay fever) and
asthma.
Fir or pine needle oil should
not be used with this medicine if you have asthma. Talk to
your doctor BEFORE using any herbals with this medicine.
Cortiscosterioids reduce the
inflammation process, by suppressing the reaction of certain
cells.
This medicine is generally used
once daily. Shake gently before each dose. For best results,
this medicine should be taken continuously, even if you start
feeling better. Do not skip doses. Always follow your doctors
instructions on dosing.

Avoid anyone who has chicken
pox or measles while taking this medicine. Patients with compromised
immune systems are at higher risk of infection.

Ketoconazole (Nizoral) and perhaps
other AZOLE antifungals and ritonavir (Norvir) may increase
the effects of this medicine. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist
for more information on drug interactions.
Take your next dose as soon
as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the
missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double
doses.
Store it at room temperature
and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly
closed, and out of reach of children. Throw away any medication
that is outdated or no longer needed.
If you are pregnant or thinking
of becoming pregnant talk to your doctor about the risk versus
the benefits of taking this medicine during pregnancy. For
nursing mothers, talk to your pediatrician about possible
risks to your baby while breast-feeding with this medicine.
